Here is the information sheet for the course. You can download a weekly outline of topics here (though this may vary slightly as the term goes on).
Weekly homeworks are due at the beginning of the Wednesday lectures. Please include your full name, student number, homework number and the course and section number (MATH2423-001). Remember to staple your homework if using more than one sheet of paper.
There will be three midterm exams, to be held during class. Each exam will be 45 minutes long. You may not use notes or books during the exam. Non-programmable calculators are permitted (i.e. no graphing calculators allowed).
The first midterm will be held in class on Friday 19 September. It will cover the topics from Sections 4.1 - 4.5 and 5.1. You can download a sample midterm here, which will be similar to the actual exam. You can find solutions for the sample midterm here.
Approximate grades for Midterm 1 (out of 40): A: 30-40, B: 26-29, C: 21-25, D: 16-20.
The second midterm will be held in class on Friday 24 October. It will cover the topics from Sections 5.2-5.4, 6.1, 6.2*, 6.3* and 6.4*. You can download a sample midterm here, which will be similar to the actual exam. Solutions to questions not discussed in class [Q3(a) and Q4(a)] can be found here.
Approximate grades for Midterm 2 (out of 40): A: 28-40, B: 23-27, C: 18-22, D: 13-17.
The third midterm will be held in class on Monday 24 November. It will cover the topics from Sections 6.6-6.8 and 7.1-7.4. You can download a sample midterm here, which will be similar to the actual exam. Solutions to questions not discussed in class [Q4] can be found here.
Approximate grades for Midterm 3 (out of 40): A: 28-40, B: 23-27, C: 18-22, D: 14-17.
The final exam will be held in class at 8am - 10am on Friday 12th December. There will be a total of 8 questions. It will cover the topics assessed in the midterms + improper integrals. You may bring one side of handwritten notes on standard letter sized paper.
