PHILOSOPHY

My main focus in teaching mathematics is to break down the barriers that many non-math majors carry coming into college; I primarily teach lower level math courses which consist almost solely of non-majors, and this has largely shaped my current mindset. While the general populace probably doesn’t need to complete the square in everyday life, I think there are many valuable skills one can take away from a general education math course outside of the actual mathematical content and tools being used. On a deeper level, I think that our society’s current affliction towards mathematics, and science in general, is exceptionally heinous, and I want to do everything in my power to reveal the beauty of the subject to the self-proclaimed "non-math people."

CURRENT TEACHING

I am not teaching in the Fall of 2021.

PAST TEACHING

I began teaching in Fall 2014. I’ve taught numerous courses as a graduate teaching assistant and as an adjunct instructor for the College of Charleston. I taught as a graduate teaching assistant for the University of Oklahoma from Fall 2016 to Summer 2020 (excluding Spring 2020). For a complete list of courses taught, see my Curriculum Vitae.
