Here are parametrizations and corresponding pictures of some interesting surfaces: the Moebius strip (see equations (1), (2), (3)), the cross cap (see equations (2), (3), (4)), and the Boy surface (see equations (7), (8), (9)). Why are these interesting? You can get some clue by reading the Wikipedia article on "Moebius strip".
The universe knows left from right: the discovery in the 1950's of parity violation in physics.
Dot products, cross products, and many other aspects of vectors as we know them today were first introduced by the great (and underappreciated) American physicist Josiah Willard Gibbs. They were popularized in this 1901 textbook, which still serves as a useful reference today.
You can find a lot of interesting pictures and even videos illustrating cubic surfaces by doing an internet search for "cubic surface". Here is a chapter containing illustrations of 45 different kinds of cubic surfaces, taken from the book "Algebraic Geometry and Geometric Modeling" by S. Holzer and O. Labs.
