Math Circle is an educational opportunity for grade school students to meet with mathematical scholars and professionals, including graduate students, and professors at OU, to learn intriguing problems and topics in mathematics not typically taught in the classroom. Math Circles take place all across the country.
Our mission at the Norman Math Circle is to show students that math is more than formulas and memorization and that mathematics requires creativity. The Norman Math Circle is a form of outreach where mathematicians at the University of Oklahoma teach grade school students higher-level mathematics not typically taught in the classroom. The goal is to get students excited about the mathematics they are learning in an encouraging environment.
