1. p. 30, line 8, |&lambda = 1| should be |&lambda| = 1.
2. p. 32, line 16, {x₁, x₁,... should be {x₁, x₂ ,...
3. p. 36-7, Exercises 9 and 26 (iii) ask the reader to prove the same theorem. (Note: the first 2 parts of Exercise 26 make the problem more accessible.)
4. p. 37, Exercise 18 asks the reader to prove parts (i) and (ii) of Proposition 1.56; it should be parts (i) and (iii).
5. p. 39, Exercise 33, E must be a proper subspace of the vector space V.

1. p. 100, line 14, "adjoint matrix" should be "adjoint operator".
